Climate

 

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a Temperate Deciduous Forest and offers a moderate climate for plants, animals,  and visitors. The park goes through hot, humid summers as well as cold, snowy winters. Temperatures, and weather vary as elevations get higher. They can range from about 875 feet to 6,643 feet. You may want to bring your rain gear! The Smokies average a rainfall of 55 inches in lowlands and 85 inches in higher areas.
